Our Company

Like all successful companies, Blair & Associates, Inc. has evolved over the years, dating back to 1957 when Thomas Marchant founded the company under the name Marchant Sales Company. One of the first lines represented was Furnas Electric. In 1972, with the addition of George Field, the company became Marchant and Field Sales Company. With the retirement of Tom, George Field continued to run the company and in 1987, hired Sam Blair as a sales representative and partner. After 22 years of service, George Field retired in August of 1994. Today, Sam Blair is the owner and president of our organization.

As it was in 1957, and as it is now, our company's purpose is to serve the electrical needs of the Commonwealth of Virginia. We offer over 46 years of experience and professionalism, along with a thorough understanding of the Virginia electrical market. We intend to grow with our manufacturers and enhance our offerings with products and personnel that fit well with our current lines. Through continuing investments in quality people and tools, we will ensure our position as a leader in the Virginia electrical market.

Several years ago, Blair & Associates foresaw our customers need for a representative who could provide every facet of their electrical equipment needs. Since then, we have begun to diversify our business direction so that we may provide our customers with the type of electrical producs that are innovative and offer value to their company. As always, our goal of being our customers first and last thought in electrical equipment remains.

Our mission is to represent quality manufacturers of electrical products and to provide the highest level of service with true professionalism, honesty, and integrity.


To accomplish our mission, we will focus on our customers. This includes:
